Patterns Physics Summer Virtual Workshop

July 27–31, 2026

Explore the core instructional shifts of Patterns Physics in a virtual workshop focused on NGSS-aligned 3D learning and assessment. Participants will experience culturally responsive, phenomena-based storylines that integrate physics DCIs with SEPs and CCCs, then practice core Patterns routines that build successful student-centered sensemaking.

This workshop highlights structures for equitable engagement through inquiry and engineering investigations—including multiple differentiated pathways that support creativity and collaboration. We will then zoom in on 3D assessment practices, including formative checks and performance tasks that elicit SEPs, CCCs, and DCIs together and generate actionable instructional next steps.

Leave fully equipped to implement and customize the open-source Patterns Physics curriculum, guided by the primary authors who are current classroom teachers.
